Introducing the deep and mature Deau Collection VSOP Cognac, presented in a traditional tasting bottle. Distilled following traditional methods of Cognac savoir-faire, this Very Superior Old Pale Cognac is assembled with eaux-de-vie from the finest terroirs of the Cognac region, resting for in French oak before it reaches optimal maturity for blending. The VSOP is typically aged for at least 4 years, but some parts of the blend are usually older.

Distilled in the Moisans Distillery, it respects the traditional method of the Charentais still. The vineyards overlook the Charente River, and the distillery is home to 12 copper pot stills. They own over 2000 barrels of Cognac to select and blend. Their balance between time, elegance and the utmost care is part of their tribute to Louis Deau. This Deau Cognac VSOP from the Moisans Distillery comes from a mastered elaboration of eaux-de-vie, distilled according to the traditional method of the Charentais still, and crafted with Ugni Blanc grapes.

TASTING NOTES

Eye: A flamed, golden colour.
Nose: Bouquet of elegant, floral, and rich leathery aromas.
Palate: Velvety and smooth. The finish brings hints of roasted almonds that lingers on the palate.

THE HOUSE

Les Moisans is a lovely hamlet crossed by a narrow winding lane. The estate includes the aging cellars, the twelve-still distillery, the offices, and the beautifully restored Manor House for welcoming visitors and cognac aficionados.

Our family history is rooted in the land and its vines, beginning with the acquisition of the Moisans estate.

To make characterful cognacs faithful to our family tradition, we believe that the terroir is important, the vineyard is essential, and the care given to our wines is absolutely crucial.

In the 1960s, the founder Roland Bru created the Distillerie des Moisans and bought his first vines.

He followed in the footsteps of his father-in-law, Georges Guimard who was from a large family in Angoulême.

Like Bru in his time, Guimard traveled the world after the First World War as a representative of the great cognac houses. Today, the company is overseen by the founder’s daughter Véronique Legaret and her son Roland, with Oliver Petit at their side.

For us, cognac is a family affair. We are proud to share our world, where the exceptional, beautiful, and unique come together to give rise to deep emotion, revelation, and discovery.
